In November 2018 Nor-Maali Oy participated in the 75th Anniversary of The Finnish Paint Association In the event the artist Felix Bardy created a painting which Nor-Maali acquired by donating 7,000 € to a charity of our choice. Nor-Maali Oy chose John Nurminen Foundation as our charity target.
Founded in 1992, the John Nurminen Foundation aims to reduce eutrophication in the Baltic Sea. Over the last 10 years, the Foundation has started more than 31 Clean Baltic Sea projects, 21 of which have already been completed. These projects improve the condition of the Baltic Sea by reducing eutrophic phosphorus load. With a donation of 10 euros, you can help eliminate 50 kg of harmful blue-green algae from the Baltic Sea. With Nor-Maali Oy’s donation the Foundation can help the Baltic Sea by cleaning approximately 35 000 kg of the existing blue-green algae.

To build on the new co-operation Erkki Salo (left) visited Nor-Maali and informed all staff about the work of the Foundation in Finland and the Baltic Sea area. Erkki Salo from John Nurminen Foundation is here seen with CEO Lars Johansen at the painting by Felix Bardy.
When we in Nor-Maali formulate new products, we strive to develop more environmentally friendly products for our customers. Our factory’s environmental emissions are continuously monitored to comply with the emission standards and limits. From the production process we collect our solvent and chemical residue and recycle them for reuse. In addition, our factory does not generate landfill waste, as all of our waste is either reused or burned to generate energy.
Nor-Maali Oy has agreed to operate under The Chemical Industry Federation of Finland's Responsible Care sustainability program, continuously improving our production and products in the fields of environment, health and safety.
